Xenogrow 5% is a potassium channel opener. Its vasodilation action expands the blood vessels. Therefore, when it is applied to the scalp, it helps to increase blood flow. This increased blood flow provides more nutrition and oxygen to the hair follicles, which prevents hair cell death and also enhances new hair growth. • Hands should be washed before and after application.

• Do not shampoo or use a hairdryer for 4 hours after using Xenogrow Topical Solution since this may diminish the medicine's efficacy.
• Your hair loss may increase over the first two weeks of use. This is typical and indicates that Xenogrow Topical Solution is effective.
• Take care not to get Xenogrow Topical Solution on your face, since it may induce unwanted facial hair growth.

✔️ Indications of Xenogrow 5% Scalp Solution

Minoxidil is indicated for the treatment of Alopecia Androgenetic in men and women aged between 18 and 65.

✔️ Pharmacology

Minoxidil increases hair growth by increasing the availability of oxygen, blood, and nutrients to the hair follicle through the enlargement of blood vessels and lowering the effects of androgen hormone on hair follicles.

The normal undamaged scalp absorbs around 1.4 percent of the whole administered dosage after topical treatment. Enhanced topical Minoxidil absorption is achieved by increasing the dosage, and frequency of administration, and reducing the stratum corneum barrier function. After topical Minoxidil treatment, serum Minoxidil levels and systemic effects are determined by the drug's absorption rate via the skin. Around 95% of patients report feeling better after discontinuing topical doses.

✔️ Dosage of Xenogrow 5%

Alopecia Androgenetic Male: 

• Apply 1 mL of 2% or 5% solution to afflicted scalp regions BID; do not exceed 2 mL in 24 hours. 

Female: 

• Apply 1 mL of 2% solution to afflicted scalp regions BID. 
• It should be worn twice daily for at least four months before noticeable hair growth may be expected.

✔️ How to Apply Xenogrow 5% Scalp Solution

Drop it on

• Twice a day drops 1 mL (dosage marked on the dropper) of the solution directly onto the scalp where you have hair loss.

Rub it in

• Gently massage it with your fingers.

Wait a bit

• Let it fully soak into the scalp before the next step of your routine, whether that’s going to sleep or blow drying and styling your hair.

✔️ Administration of Xenogrow 5%

• Hair and scalp should be thoroughly dry prior to topical application of Minoxidil.
• A dose of 1 ml Minoxidil cutaneous solution should be applied to the total affected areas of the scalp twice daily.
• The total dosage should not exceed 2 ml.
• If fingertips are used to facilitate drug application, hands should be washed afterward.
• It should be used twice daily for four months or more before evidence of hair growth can be expected.

✔️ Over Dose of Xenogrow 5%

• Signs and symptoms of Minoxidil overdosage would primarily be cardiovascular effects associated with sodium and water retention, and tachycardia.
• Increased systemic absorption of Minoxidil may potentially occur if higher-than-recommended doses of Minoxidil are applied to larger surface areas of the body or areas other than the scalp.
• There are no known cases of Minoxidil overdosage resulting from topical administration of Minoxidil.
• Fluid retention can be managed with appropriate diuretic therapy. Clinically significant tachycardia can be controlled by the administration of a beta-adrenergic blocking agent.

✔️ Interaction

Topical drugs, such as corticosteroids, tretinoin, dithranol, or petrolatum which alter the stratum corneum barrier, could result in increased absorption of Minoxidil if applied concurrently. Although it has not been demonstrated clinically, there exists the theoretical possibility of absorbed minoxidil potentiating orthostatic hypotension caused by peripheral vasodilators.

• People who have had occlusive dressings or other drugs applied to their scalp.
• Individuals with a red, inflammatory infection and an irritable or painful scalp (including psoriasis & sunburn)

✔️ Use in Pregnancy & Lactation

Pregnancy: 

• Studies in animals have shown reproductive toxicity. The potential risk for humans is unknown. Minoxidil should not be used during pregnancy.
  Lactation: 
• It is recommended that breastfeeding should be discontinued during treatment with Minoxidil.

✔️ Precautions & Warnings

• Before using Minoxidil, the user should determine that the scalp is normal and healthy. 
• Patients with known cardiovascular disease or cardiac arrhythmia should contact a physician before using Minoxidil. 
• Minoxidil contains alcohol, which will cause burning and irritation of the eye. 
• In the event of accidental contact with sensitive surfaces (eye, abraded skin, and mucous membranes) the area should be bathed with a large amount of cool tap water.

• Store at a cool and dry place, protected from light. 
• Keep this medication in the container it came in, tightly closed, and out of reach of children
• Unused medication must be disposed of carefully to prevent dogs, kids, and other people from ingesting them. You should not, however, dispose of this medication in the toilet.
